Rental Terms and Conditions

• Renters / drivers under the age of 21 can only rent passenger cars in category A and vans in categories K, L and M.
• The deductible amounts are doubled for renters / drivers under the age of 24 (See also Verlaging eigen risico).
• Renters / drivers must reside in Leiden, Leiderdorp, Alphen aan den Rijn, Haarlem or adjacent municipalities.
• Because we are constantly renewing our fleet, types of vehicles and the associated rates may deviate from, or no longer appear on the rate list. As a result, we cannot guarantee a specific car within a vehicle category, but we will make an equivalent car available.
• All our vehicles are equipped with a Track & Trace system. This allows us to locate the vehicle when necessary.
• If the rental car is returned outside of our opening hours, the renter / driver remains liable for damage and theft until we have been able to check the car within 2 hours of the opening time of the location.
• Rental takes place on presentation of a double identification (driver’s license + passport or identity card). These must all be from the same person. We reserve the right to request a recent address identification.
• If you are in possession of a foreign driving license written in a non-Latin script, you must also bring an International Driving Permit (IDP). In addition, the driver's license must not be older than 10 years.
• BOVAG affiliated car rental companies, like HuurMij, use the national Elena warning system, which informs them about custumers who have not previously adhered to a rental contract. The inclusion of the data is stated in article 19 of the BOVAG General Rental Terms & Conditions. The registration in the central system is automatically notified bij letter and e-mail to the relevant persons or companies. Elena complies with the General Data Protection Regulation and has been approved by Dutch Data Protection Authority.
• We have the right to refuse rental and to reclaim cars, without giving any reason.
• Fines are at the expense of the tenant / driver. The administration costs are €9,50 per ticket / fine.
• Renters who normally rent on behalf of their employer fall back on the rental conditions stated here for private rentals.

• The amount of the deposit depends on the type of rental car, the length of the rental period ande the age of the renter / driver.
• The deposit can be reduced by decreasing the deductible.
• The deposit can be paid in full by debit card or credit card authorization (Visa or MasterCard).
• For security reasons, we do not accept cash.

Furthermore, the BOVAG General Rental Terms and Conditions apply to the rental of our vehicles.
