Electric car rental

You can charge the car anywhere in the Netherlands at gas stations and public charging stations. This does require a charging card or phone app for checkout. If you want to keep track of your own "fuel costs," then the best thing to do is to use your own charging card, or download a charging app on your phone. There are several providers of this, such as Shell Recharge, SME Fuel, ANWB, Eneco, Vattenfall. Often free to request and with no subscription fees. Click here for a comprehensive overview.

Depending on whether you have refueled yourself in between trips, the settlement of the charging costs will take place upon settlement based on the kilometers driven or on the state of the "fuel gauge”. That means returning the car fully charged is no longer necessary, but of course can and may be done. The charging cables are in the car.

You can also rent an electric car if you want to go abroad, but then you also have to take care of the right charging key or card yourself.

Each car comes with at least one cable for a charging station or fast charging station. Want to charge the car at your home or nearby? This is very easy to do at a charging station! A charging station is many times faster and safer than an outlet. Plugging it in takes only about 10 seconds: Plug in, use your charking key or card and walk away! When you return from an afternoon of work or a night's sleep, the car is fully charged again.

Fast charging is available at a large number of fast charging stations along the highway. You are often gone in 30 minutes! That time is perfect to make a quick stop, stretch your legs, visit the restroom and maybe have a cup of coffee! But you don’t always have to fast charge to 80%, of course. You can stop charging at any time when you have enough range! This makes electric car rental even easier!
